Telephonic Conversation between Afghan Ambassador and KP Chief Minister

Today, the Ambassador of Afghanistan to Pakistan, H.E. Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb, held a telephone conversation with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, H.E. Sohail Afridi, regarding the situation of Afghan refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly the conditions of returning refugees.

The Afghan Ambassador expressed his appreciation to Chief Minister Afridi for his recent visit to the Hamza Baba Camp in Landi Kotal and for his directives to introduce new facilities, including the reactivation of Mobile Registration Vans. He also expressed hope that these facilities would be further expanded.

Ambassador Shakeeb further requested an increase in the number of Mobile Registration Vans (MRV), enhancement of facilities at Hamza Baba and other camps, the prompt release of thousands of stranded refugees at the Begyari Checkpoint, and, in general, the acceleration of the overall process of refugee repatriation to Afghanistan.

Chief Minister Afridi, while thanking the Afghan Ambassador, stated that he personally oversees the situation of Afghan refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on a daily basis, particularly the registration and holding centers. He added that necessary instructions would be issued to the relevant authorities regarding the aforementioned issues to ensure their prompt resolution.
