The new academic year for Afghan refugee schools in Pakistan commenced with a bell-ringing ceremony led by H.E. Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb , the Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan.


On September 5th, the Acting Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, H.E. Sardar Ahmad Shakib, along with the Education Attaché Sediqullah Ahmadi, participated in a ceremony held in the courtyard of Istiqlal High School for Afghan refugees in Islamabad. The event was organized by the principals and teachers of schools and high schools from the Rawalpindi-Islamabad area to mark the start of the new academic year. Ambassador Shakib officially inaugurated the new school year by ringing the bell.

In his speech, Ambassador Shakib extended congratulations and assured full cooperation from the Embassy and the Education Attaché, promising to address any issues and suggestions they may have. He further emphasized that the Islamic Emirate is committed to the importance of quality education in the country’s development and is striving to provide access to standard education not only within Afghanistan but also for Afghan nationals in neighboring countries.

Following his speech, the principal of Istiqlal and Malalai High Schools, Mr. Mohammad Sharif Salehi, expressed gratitude on behalf of the other principals and teachers for the Embassy’s support and collaboration. He acknowledged the timely assistance provided by the Embassy through the Education Attaché and hoped for continued attention to their needs.
