Vacancy announcement

The Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad is seeking qualified and experienced engineers to supervise the construction and technical components of the Embassy Complex Project in the Diplomatic Enclave, G5 Sector, Islamabad. 

Positions Available: (4):

1.    Civil Engineer

2.    Mechanical Engineer

3.    Electrical Engineer

4.    Quantity Surveyor (QS)

 

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

1. Civil Engineer

  • Supervise all civil engineering works, including structure, foundation, concrete, masonry, and finishes.
  • Ensure compliance with architectural and structural design requirements.
  • Monitor site progress, conduct inspections, and enforce safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications:

  • MSc/BSc degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. (MS will be preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in managing civil and structural projects.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and international standards.

 

2. Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems.
  • Supervise installation and commissioning of mechanical components.
  • Ensure systems are integrated with other engineering elements of the project.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for mechanical works.

Qualifications:

  • MSc/BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution (MS will be preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of practical experience in mechanical systems for large buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of energy efficiency and mechanical safety standards.

 

3. Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, security systems, and backup power.
  • Ensure electrical installations meet safety codes and energy regulations.
  • Review electrical plans, manage load calculations, and oversee testing/commissioning.
  • Liaise with utility companies and project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • MSc/BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. (MS will be preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering for commercial or government facilities.
  • Strong command of design software and electrical safety standards.

 

 4. Quantity Surveyor (QS)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and monitor project cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documentation.
  • Track variations and change orders, ensuring cost control.
  • Assess contractor claims and recommend payments.
  • Conduct valuations, cost analysis, and risk assessments.

Qualifications:

  • BSc/D.A.E degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering. (BSc will be preferred) 
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in cost management of large-scale construction projects.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and construction law.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Afghan nationals with valid residential documents in Pakistan OR Qualified Pakistani citizens.
  • Strong professional integrity, communication skills, and ability to work with multinational teams.
